My header will change from time to time — sometimes with the seasons. Since I started learning digital graphics, I experiment with techniques — trying to find my style. I’ve noticed that I gravitate toward more muted tones. The current header is composed of two scanned copies of purchased slavery-era prints and a digital image of the ancestral home of my ancestors’ owners (see attribution below). Since I have no photographs of my maternal great grandparents (Thacker and Seuk MABLE), I’ve assigned these prints to represent them.
The idea I’m trying to convey in my header is one of “Thack” and Seuk reminiscing about life on the plantation where they spent so many of their formative and adult years — and looking forward to the future of their descendants.
